I v/s me

For as far as I can remember, I have always travelled – countries, continents, states, cities, towns villages, sea’s – all.

I make it a point to move around the globe at least five times a year. Just hop on a plane and eventually sail to a different place and relax. Majority of my travels include staying in ✮✮✮✮✮ hotels with reputable names and live the life of a ‘Malibu Malaika’. However, for my next adventure, I have decided to trade my Prada in for a backpack.

‘Go travel’ – They say.
‘You will find yourself’ – They say.

What does that mean? Find yourself?! – I have such trouble understanding that. Especially since I wouldn’t know what I am looking for nor do I know who I am, or am I me now? Maybe I am being ignorant here, but what defines us? And is there a handout that chapters certain types of characters that we should be relating to?

Or are we searching for something more meaningful? – Adding value to our lives.. ? Or does curiosity creep to see if there is something better in us than us? – Maybe. In the end, I believe you can find ‘yourself’, your inner peace anywhere in the world – Meditate on your yoga mat on the living room floor? Or is it that travelling acts like a catalyst to enhance the entire process – giving you a different view on yourself and understanding the you you are? – Complete boggles!

Along my hard-thought attempt of ‘self discovery’, In 8 days, I plan to have no plans and get lost in South America. Get completely lost and follow random signs to untouched lands – Explore, eat exotic foods, meet interesting people and swim in mosquito infested rivers – and when I am satisfied I will move on.. and hopefully I will be able to understand and relate to the theories that travelling is more than just sitting on a beach reading American Sniper – and more about pushing comfort limits and connecting with our inner psychologists to examine our lives in a different enchanted light in surreal environments.
